The mounts of Gaucín are the last spurs of the Penibética mountain range, between which they are: the Mountain range Beacon with an altitude of 1,012 meters, the Hill Wonders to 645 meters, Sierra Espartina to 641 meters on the level of the sea, in these zones are jurásicas, peridotitas limestones, gneiss and slates.

Two fluvial river basins water the term of Gaucín: the Guadiaro and the Genal.
